Prairie Loft
Prairie Loft's mission is to teach agriculture appreciation, outdoor education, cultural connections, and the wise use of natural resources. The non-profit accomplishes this through a variety of hands-on, active, place-based learning activities for individuals of all ages. These activities include field trips, family programs, summer camps, workshops, and community events.
Prairie Loft is located in Hastings, Nebraska. They aim to enhance agricultural and natural literacy, and to cultivate a deeper understanding of the earth in which we live.
The beautiful barns of Prairie Loft were once part of a working farm that fed more than 1,000 people for 80 years. Many of the original farm buildings and grounds are getting new life through their renovation efforts, creating new and expanded space for the community to gather and learn.
Prairie Loft's mission is made possible by donations and hundreds of volunteers. Volunteers, who are vital to their growth and success, help with events, programs, gardens, grounds, and other projects.

The following are a couple highlights of the impactful work of Prairie Loft.
Summer Camps
Prairie Loft invites campers to learn, explore, and have fun together! They strive to create a mini-community at every camp, providing individual attention and positive encouragement through unique outdoor activities in a farm-based setting. Prairie Loft summer camps provide active and safe outdoor experiences. Some of their programs include "Little Sprouts", "Nature Navigators", "Farmers and Growers", and "Grandparents Camp". They offer camps for participants aged 3 to 13.
Prairie Loft offers programs for all different kinds of organizations and for participants of all ages. They serve schools, summer programs, home school groups, daycares, adult learning associations, senior centers. and more! All classes are hands-on and active, with a variety of experiences in every session. Activities may include free choice time, nature hikes and farm exploration, art and science projects, animal studies, and discovery in the gardens, fields, pastures, and other special spots.
