The "under" part of this photo was 33-degree water
Shooting photos in the winter can pose some unique challenges (Cold fingers, lens fog, cold-crashing camera batteries). It took about 10 attempts before I was happy with this shot. This was an “over-under” photo (part underwater and part above water). Unfortunately for me, the “under” part of this photo was 33-degree water. It doesn’t take long before you can’t feel what buttons you are pushing on the camera.
This photo is from the “Bear Brook Trail” in southern New Hampshire. This is a beautiful hike, anytime of the year.
