The storm did end up coming my way.
This photo was taken on day 3 of a 4-day solo kayak/camp trip through the Middle and Lower Florida Keys. I was paddling south, and hammock camping in the mangroves each night. I remember looking out at this storm and thinking, yikes I hope that isn’t headed towards me. I sat there for a few minutes, trying to read the winds. The chances of the storm blowing my way looked pretty good. I grabbed my camera, put the wide-angle lens on it, and took this shot.
The storm did end up coming my way. I paddled into the mangroves for shelter, hung a rain fly in the mangrove branches overhead, and rode out the storm.
